Mandy Young came to Cedarville thinking about a future in music or education. And in a way, she’s doing both – she’s educating people about the power of music to transform lives and inspire faith in Jesus.
Mandy, who graduated from Cedarville with a bachelor’s in broadcasting and digital media in 2000, is the program director for K-LOVE and Air 1. She is first female in this role and is responsible for music and on-air programming broadcast through 790 stations across the country.
It started early for Mandy when she and her siblings would create radio shows and put them on cassette tapes. And now those childhood flights of fancy have become a real role influencing millions with music.
As she trailblazes a role in Christian radio, she is confident this is the place God has for her to serve and to inspire listeners to trust and pursue Him.
“It’s my job to pour out encouragement to other people,” she shares during the podcast, “Tell them about Jesus, bring them closer to Him, and lift them up.”
