It was a reunion for Viv Wheeler and her birth mom when the Cedarville University sophomore visited Guatemala on a recent trip to her native country. It was the first time Wheeler met her birth mom, as she was put up for adoption in 2004 — a few months after her birth.

Taking the gospel to the ends of the earth, a Cedarville University student discovered her calling while sharing God’s love with those who need it the most — individuals incarcerated in an area jail. Marissa Lykins, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, found her passion through prison ministry.

Building community is the goal of Cedarville University freshman Will Woods, and he is using a new podcast to reach his objective. Woods, who is majoring in marketing, is the creator and host of a new podcast, dawoodz2, that can be listened to on all podcast providers. The New Florence, Pennsylvania student uses his own curiosity to create questions for guests that he hopes will help future college students be prepared for their own college experience.

After four years of intense training and education through Cedarville’s Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps Program (AFROTC), John Thomson (Greenwood, Missouri), Brent Whitley (Raleigh, North Carolina) and Beavercreek, Ohio, residents Thaddeus Krueger and Matthew Crum were recently accepted into the highly competitive Air Force flight training program and are on their way to becoming pilots.

More than a lemonade stand, Cedarville University is giving high school students the opportunity to go beyond tradition as young entrepreneurs. Cedarville, in partnership with the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE), will host the inaugural Cedarville University Entrepreneurship (CUE) camp on June 4-7, 2024. Students between 14-18 are invited to register before May 15.

Nurse practitioner fellowships are rare. Cedarville graduate Andrea (VanMeter) Roberts, however, landed an internal medicine nurse practitioner fellowship with Marshall Health Internal Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia, that led to her securing a position in endocrinology at Rivers Health in Gallipolis, Ohio — her hometown.

The largest graduating class in Cedarville University's 137-year history celebrated its academic accomplishments Saturday during the university's 128thcommencement in the Doden Field House.

From teaching multiple generations of the same family to completing a doctoral degree at prestigious Cambridge University, Dr. Estes has left an indelible mark on the academic world and beyond.

Nurses make the difference is the theme of National Nurses Week, which is celebrated May 6–12. To honor the work of nurses, Cedarville University’s school of nursing(SON) will host the second annual 5K walk/run on Wednesday, May 8. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. on the university’s cross-country course.

In the world of finance, Larry Burkett was an inspirational leader who provided sage investment advice to individuals through his books and radio program. For Jason Alexander, Larry Burkett was a legend. When Kingdom Advisors awarded the prestigious Larry Burkett Award to Alexander at its annual conference in Orlando, Florida, he was truly honored and humbled.

The largest graduating class will celebrate and reflect on their academic accomplishments during Cedarville University’s 128th commencement on Saturday, May 4. This class of 995 graduates is comprised of 846 undergraduate and 149 graduate students, and it represents a 4.6% increase from last year’s class.

What do you want to be when you grow up? For Joshua Thomas, a senior at Cedarville University, his answer was an engineer. His dream will become a reality on August 12, 2024, when he begins his career as a software engineer at Google.
