Workshop Details
Because of dwindling workshop attendance over the last two years, the Writing Center no longer offers out-of-class workshops. However, if you're a faculty member who'd like to request that we conduct a workshop in your class (during your class time), please contact Prof. Holly Blakely Interim Director of Writing Center. She will discuss whether she can meet your request. The following is the list of possible in-class workshops she or the writing center tutors could offer in your class(es):
- How to Write a Literature Review
- How to Use MLA or APA or Turabian Style
- How to Write Concisely
- How to Read Closely
You also could request we cover another topic. However, we are limited in the types and frequency of in-class workshops we can offer because of our own class and meeting schedules. You will have a better chance requesting workshops on other topics if you make your request in the first three weeks of the semester and give us at least a month of lead time. That way, we can plan ahead and work with each other’s schedules.
As always, we can assist all your students one-to-one in our tutoring sessions during our normal hours: MWF 1-5 p.m.; T/R 12:30-5 p.m.; Sundays 4-8 p.m.; and M-R 6-8 p.m.
