
Summer / Short Term Programs
Each summer, Study Abroad offers Cedarville courses in international locations. These courses are taught by Cedarville professors and are open to Cedarville students who have a 3.0 GPA and have completed two terms at Cedarville University (College Now terms do not count). Some courses are specialized for specific majors and others are general education courses. They are ideal for students whose major do not have the flexibility of a semester abroad. The locations vary each summer.
Most trips are under $5,000 including tuition, program fee, and lodging. Tuition for the summer of 2020 is $831 per credit hour. Airfare is not included, but group flights may be available with students paying for their flight cost individually. Summer students will need to complete the Study Abroad application and health screening and meet with Study Abroad by January 15. Below is the list of course offerings for summer 2021:

Geology of National Parks
Dates: May 5 - 20, 2020
Cost: $1,750 program fee (housing, transportation during class, etc.), $200 non-refundable fee, plus airfare and tuition
This trip, led by Prof. Tom Rice, will take you to Rocky Mountain area national parks, which include Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons National Park, Jackson's Hole, Dinosaur NM, Badlands National Park, Rocky Mountains National Park, Devils Tower NM, Big Horn Mountains, Scotts Bluff, Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, and many others. Note that there will be a lot of hiking so participants should be used to hiking long distances and over various elevations. The starting and ending city will be Denver, CO.
Course: GSCI-1030 Geology of National Parks
- This course fulfills the physical science requirement of 3.5 credit hours
- There are no quizzes or exams
- A project photo journal is due after the trip
- The 3.0 GPA normally required for Study Abroad is waived
Anyone after the first 10 registrants will be put on a wait-list to get into the class.

Environment of Spain
Dates: May 3 - 21, 2021
Location: Valencia, Spain
Course: Taught by Dr. Mark Gathany
Students may take one course:
- GSCI/ENVS 1110 "Environment: Science, Sustainability, and Stewardship" (4 credits)
- This course satisfies the physical science general education requirement.
- BIO 4880 "Ecology and Environment of Spain" (4 credits)
Cost: $6,031, plus flights
Cost includes:
- Tuition (4 credits)

Summer in Spain
Dates: Various dates throughout May - July, 2021
Students may attend one or both sessions.
- Session A: May 16 - June 18, 2021
- Session B: June 20 - July 23, 2021
Location: Valencia, Spain
Courses: Taught by faculty at the Institute of Spanish Studies
Students are encouraged to take 5 - 9 credit hours per session.
- All Spanish major and minor courses
- Spanish internships, practicums, clinical experiences
- Most courses for the Spanish for Healthcare Personnel minor and the Certificate in Medical Spanish
Cost: Varies depending on credit load and number of sessions attended.
