2020 Spring Semester Group Exercise Class Descriptions

Spin Class

Spin class provides a fun, hour-long cardiovascular workout that includes strength, core and stamina training all while riding along to upbeat music. No prior experience necessary: all are encouraged and more than welcome to come! Each class will be limited to 16 riders based on the number of bikes we have available.

Beginner Swing Dance Class

Beginner Swing teaches the ground basics of the East Coast swing dancing style. Here we start at the very beginning with footwork/form and work up to more complicated ground moves by the end of the semester. This can be for the swing dancing newcomer or the pro, a good way to have fun and learn the basics of swing!

Intermediate Swing Dance Class

This class builds on beginner swing with the addition of aerials. The beginner class is not a prerequisite but strongly recommended to at least have some prior swing dancing experience before entering this class. Guys should feel comfortable and able to do lifts with girls. So for those ready to take their swing dancing to the next level, come on in and have fun learning some aerials!

Women's Self Defense Class:

We live in a fallen world where conflict can and often does turn physical. If we are all made in God’s image how to do you love your neighbor as yourself if they are attacking you and/or your loved ones? Learn Okinawan Karate and Self-Defense techniques/principles that promote life preservation and threat neuralization.

Martial Arts

In this Martial Arts class you will learn the basics of Okinawan Shuri-te. Throughout the year we will work on techniques for strikes, blocks, awareness, self-defense, and self-control. These skills will help you protect yourself and others from the dangers of this sinful world.

Power Hour

Power Hour is a class designed to target the whole body through a combination of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and Pilates, where we’ll use both weights and bodyweight exercises throughout. We’ll conclude the hour with stretching to improve flexibility. All fitness levels are welcome!

HIIT it with Beach

Are you interested in High Intense Interval Training workouts, but scared to try them alone? No matter your fitness level, this class will be a fun yet effective workout! Come ready to HIIT it!
