Real-World Impact Through Real Godly Love — 2/15/2011

Ernest Brown is the Senior Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. Pastor Brown uses several passages of Scripture to show what Godly love looks like. He teaches that we must have the attitude of Christ, which involves putting others' interests ahead of our own. We also must follow our model, which is Christ himself. Then, the goal of our love for others is that they may come to know the love of Christ through our actions.

Dr. Bill Brown is the President of Cedarville University. Dr. Brown begins the message by explaining that Christians usually have one of three reactions to the culture. Either they withdraw due to being offended by it, they assimilate as a result of being delighted by it, or they engage the culture because of being distressed by what they see. Dr. Brown teaches that compassion cannot be sustained simply by trying to feel good about helping people. Rather, it must come as a result of realizing what Christ has done for us.
