Faith and a Public Life - A Journey of Grace — 10/28/2010

Tim Goeglein is Vice President for External Relations at Focus on the Family (www.focusonthefamily.com). Mr. Goeglein shared the story of his career path in Washington D.C., culminating in his position as Special Assistant to President George W. Bush. He then talked about how it all came to a sudden end with the revelation that he had plagiarized someone's work in a column he wrote for an Indiana newspaper. Other instances of plagiarism then surfaced, as well. He shared how once the matter became public, the burden of his sin was lifted and he could begin the healing process. After his resignation, he was humbled by the grace and mercy he was shown by the President, and likened it to the grace and mercy we as Christians receive from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr. Woodcock serves as the Head Master of Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California (www.oakschristian.org). Jeff shared memories during his time at Cedarville, as well as experiences in his various teaching and administrative roles in both public and Christian schools.

The Parable of the Sower — 9/23/2010

David Mason is the Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church of the Deaf in Columbus, Ohio (www.libertybaptistdeafchurch.org). He signed his message, and it was interpreted by Sharon Bordean. Pastor Mason spoke on The Parable of the Sower from Luke 8:4-15. He encouraged the Cedarville students to look at their time in college as training for when they go out into the world to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He also reminded them to be looking for opportunities to minister to the deaf and hearing impaired people around them, and to be involved in giving the Gospel to them, as well.

Living the Message: Three Pictures — 9/21/2010

Dr. Bill Brown is the President of Cedarville University. In this message, Dr. Brown gives three pictures the Apostle Paul is sharing with the Colossian believers. They were being swayed by false teachers, and Paul is trying to set them straight. The first picture is that they have been relocated from the Kingdom of Darkness to the Kingdom of Light. They have also been reconciled--they were once alienated from God, but now are without blemish. Thirdly, they have been resurrected, or made alive with Christ.
