Group Exercise Classes

  • The class schedule will be posted by January 8.
  • Classes will be FREE of charge and on a first come, first served basis.
  • Classes are planned to begin January 11.

5v5 Basketball

  • Registration Dates: December 2–11
  • Play Begins: January 11
  • Format: All men's teams will play three to five round-robin pool play games with the top teams entering a combined single-elimination tournament to determine the overall championship team. The women will either play pool play and then a playoff (if there are more than seven teams) or a simple round robin format within one league (with the team having the best record being declared the champion).
  • Number of Players per Team: Minimum – 6, Maximum – 12, During Play – 5
  • Limitations: Each team is limited to no more than two players who in the past have played college-level varsity or JV basketball. See more details in the Intramural Sports Handbook.
  • Officials: There will be one scorekeeper and two game officials provided for each game.
  • Divisions:
    • Women's (open — no difference in skill between leagues)
    • Men's A (higher skill)
    • Men's B (average skill)
  • Scheduling: When signing up a team, please indicate your team's top three playing days and times as well as your team's conflicts. The earlier you sign up, the better your chances will be to play at your most preferred day/time.

  • Event Date: Saturday, February 20
  • Tournament Schedule:
    • Men's Tournament: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
    • Women's Tournament: 2–4 p.m.
  • Format: We plan to conduct a double-elimination tournament for each gender whenever possible. Tournament format and additional details will be emailed to participants on Friday, February 19.

  • Limitations: Each team is limited to no more than four club ultimate team members (either current year or past years). See more details in the Intramural Sports Handbook.
  • Officials: Officials will not be used for Ultimate Frisbee. Players will be expected to call their own games.
  • Divisions:
    • Women's
    • Men's A (higher skill)
    • Men's B (average skill)
  • Scheduling: When signing up a team, find out from your teammates which days and times would work best and indicate your team's three preferred days/times to play along with your team's major conflicts (when your team will be unable to play).

  • Registration Dates: February 17–26

  • Format: The plan is for all teams to play two or three round-robin matches first (pool play) with the top teams entering a single-elimination tournament to determine the overall championship team.
  • Number of Players per Team: Minimum – 2 (1 man and 1 woman), Maximum – 4, During Play – 2 (1 man and 1 woman)

Doubles Disc Golf League

  • Registration Dates: March 10–17
  • Play Begins: March 24
  • Format: We plan to play four weeks using a different format each week. The four formats include Best Score, Worst Throw, Best Throw, and Aggregate Score. The team with the lowest overall score after four weeks will be declared the champion.
  • Divisions: Open — teams may consist of two men, two women, or one man and one woman. Women will throw from the short tees, and men will throw from the long tees.
  • League Night: Wednesday evenings beginning at either 4:15 or 5:15 p.m. Teams must be available to play on:
    • March 24
    • March 31
    • April 7
    • April 14
    • April 21 (if needed)

Young's Bike Ride — Spring

  • Registration Dates: March 31–April 8
  • Event Date: April 10
  • Event Start Time: 1 p.m.
  • Event Description:
    • Approximately an 18–20 mile bike ride starting at the Recreation Center.
    • Route to Young's:
      • Cedarville–Yellow Springs Rd → left on Conley Rd
      • Right on Tarbox Cemetery Rd → Wilberforce–Clifton Rd
      • To Grinnell Rd to the bike path in Yellow Springs
      • Bike path to W. Jackson Rd and over to State Route 68
      • Continue to Young's Jersey Dairy
    • Return route:
      • Bike path to Grinnell Rd → Wilberforce–Clifton Rd → Cedarville–Yellow Springs Rd → campus
    • We'll have several groups riding at different speeds so that each person can ride at an appropriate pace. A support truck will be provided.
    • Young's ice cream will be available to everyone who preregisters by midnight on Thursday, April 8, and completes the ride on Saturday.

4-Player Golf Scramble

  • Format: Four-player scramble
  • Registration Dates: April 7–15
  • Playing Date: April 23
  • Location: Locust Hills Golf Course
  • Cost: $10 per student and faculty/staff member (includes riding cart for nine holes)
  • Sign Up: Stop by the Recreation Center Main Desk during the afternoon or evening hours, pay the fee, and sign up for a tee time.
  • Tee Times: 3:15–5:15 p.m.
  • Limitations: Students who have played on a varsity golf team this year are ineligible to participate. Teams are limited to one former varsity golfer.
