Direct Loans
Note: This information is valid for new students entering Cedarville in 2026–27. View all items in the Federal Aid category.
Federal Direct Loans are offered to eligible, degree seeking students who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 'type and amount of direct loan' offered (subsidized, unsubsidized or PLUS) is based on the eligibility requirement for each specific direct loan program and will be determined when the financial aid package is compiled using the FAFSA.
Note the following:
- A subsidized direct loan is only available to eligible undergraduate students who have 'unmet need' when student loans are added to their financial aid package.
- All loans are a form of financial aid which must be repaid with interest.

Renewable:
To receive a Federal Direct Loan, a student must:
- Complete the FAFSA for that year
- Meet all Direct Loan eligibility criteria for that year
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
