National Institute of Health Undergraduate Scholarship for Individuals...Disadvantaged Backgrounds

NIH Scholarships will pay up to $20,000 per academic year in tuition. It includes educational expenses, and reasonable living expenses. Scholarships are awarded for 1 year. Recipients may reapply for additional years (not to exceed 4 scholarship years). There is a SERVICE OBLIGATION of a 10 week Summer Laboratory experience after each year, and after that the recipient is required to serve as a full-time employee in an NIH research laboratory for 1 year for each year of the scholarship.

Criteria:
- US citizen or permanent resident
- Enrolled or accepted as a full-time student at an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution in the USA
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.3 or higher or within top 5% of class
- Have exceptional financial need as determined by undergraduate institution financial aid office
