Parents and Our Developing PA Program

Wednesday, June 2, 2021

Doctors talkingIn case you haven't heard, Cedarville University is developing a Physician Assistant (PA) program to launch in 2023, pending all external approvals. We're very excited for this new program and the opportunity to expand our array of healthcare offerings that equip professionals who will serve with excellence and Christ-like compassion. As we have done with previous new initiatives, we are asking for your help — our valued parents — as we prepare to launch this program.

  • Seeking Clinical Preceptors — A critical part of PA education is clinical training by experienced physicians and PAs, allowing students to interact with patients and apply learned medical knowledge to real-life clinical presentations, diseases, and conditions. If you are a physician or PA (or know one), we invite you to join our team as a clinical preceptor and help train the next generation of PAs through 4-weeklong clinical rotations in your medical specialty. No prior teaching experience is needed to be an effective preceptor, just a willingness to allow students into your daily routine to interact with patients clinically and learn from your clinical decision making. Also, you do not have to be located near Cedarville. For more information and to sign up: cedarville.edu/PApreceptors.

  • Recruiting PA Faculty Members — We also have openings for faculty members in our PA program, and parents are always a wonderful source of referrals. Perhaps, you have a personal interest in this type of opportunity! You can learn more about the PA faculty openings on Cedarville's Human Resources website.

Thank you for your continued support of Cedarville University!
