One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

Parking at Cedarville

Tuesday, August 16, 2022

We are excited to welcome thousands of students (and their cars) to campus for the 2022-23 academic year! This summer, new parking areas were added and parking enforcement plans were updated to serve our community well.

Your student will receive a copy of the new parking regulations, but we wanted to make parents aware as well.

REGISTRATION

All student and faculty/staff vehicles must be registered with Campus Security. Registering your vehicle is an important part of our overall campus security plan and enables us to better protect our students, faculty, and staff. Vehicle registrations also allow Campus Security to alert the vehicle owner in the case of an incident or if a car must be moved due to construction or maintenance. The vehicle registration fee is:

  • $50 annual registration fee for cars registered by September 4 (50% savings!)
  • $100 annual registration fee for cars registered September 5 or after

PARKING PERMITS

  • GOLD PERMITS are for commuter students. Commuters must park in Commuter lots and spaces (white-striped) only.
  • BLUE PERMITS are for residential students. Residential students must park in Residential lots only.
  • BLUE AND WHITE PERMITS are for faculty/staff members. Blue-striped spaces are designated for faculty and staff parking only 24/7.
  • Visitor spaces are marked in lots across campus.

Note that during Getting Started weekend, parking is first-come, first-served in all lots.

PARKING ENFORCEMENT

  • After September 5, unregistered cars as well as cars parked in a wrong lot or space will be ticketed. Tickets are $50 per incident.
  • After repeated parking violations for failure to register the vehicle, a “boot” will be attached to the vehicle, making it undriveable until the student calls Campus Security.
  • Once the owner is located, the student will be required to pay a $250 fine, register the vehicle for $100 (if applicable), and pay any outstanding tickets.

Please carefully review these new guidelines with your student.
