  • Capitalize “University” only when specifically referring to Cedarville University.

Correct: The University is located near Dayton and Columbus.

  • Lowercase “university” when referring to universities in general.

Correct: Many universities have been raising tuition.

University Call Center

  • This was formerly the switchboard.
  • This is managed by Student Life and operated by the Student Center Activity Board (SCAB). The call center will take all incoming phone calls to the University, transfer callers to the appropriate person or office, and provide information to callers about Cedarville events, programs, and services.
  • Dialing 1-877-CEDARVILLE from outside the University rings to this number.
  • Dialing 0 (zero) from inside the University rings to this number.

  • This is one word, not two.

U.S.News & World Report

  • Italicize the name of this publication.
  • Do not use a space between “U.S.” and “News.”
  • In the first reference use “U.S.News & World Report.” In subsequent references within the same publication or in a headline “U.S. News” is acceptable.”
