4 Tips to Make the Most of a College Visit
Friday, September 13, 2024
Your student's 1000 Days™ at Cedarville University start with a visit day, and fall is a great time to come to campus! We want your student to make the most of his or her days at Cedarville, starting with their first campus visit!
This fall, we have two CU Friday event days planned: October 11 and November 8. CU Fridays are our most popular visit options and will give you a great overview of everything Cedarville has to offer!
Can't make it to a CU Friday? Schedule a personalized visit on a day that works for you. We'll create a day just for your family with experiences that fit your student's interests.
Whichever option you choose, you'll want to make the most of your campus visit! Here are four tips from Cedarville's guest services staff to keep you on the right track:
- Get to know us online before you visit in person. Visit our website or check out Cedarville on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. We also have an online virtual campus tour that lets you experience our beautiful campus from home. Knowing just a little background information may help prevent you from being overwhelmed on the day of your visit.
- Visit when classes are in session. Visiting campus when students are here gives you the true "Cedarville Experience" — student culture is an integral part of who we are! You'll also get to experience chapel, a favorite of our students, and attend a class or two.
- Meet with current students. Our Admissions office is happy to connect you with a Cedarville student during your campus visit! Current students from your major of interest can provide you with the "inside scoop" of what it's like to study here. They can also address any questions you have about life outside the classroom.
- Ask questions — lots of them! Tour guides are prepared with plenty of information to share with you, but they love addressing questions that are relevant to you. What's most important to you in a college? Feel free to dialogue with your tour guide or admissions counselor — or anyone on campus — about what interests you most. There really is no such thing as a "bad question" — especially during a college visit!
Visiting campus really is the best way to determine if Cedarville is a good fit for your student. You'll get a taste of the vibrant Christian community and commitment to academic excellence that mark a Cedarville education. We think your son or daughter will be excited to return as a Cedarville student!
