Chapel is just one way we help our students grow in their walk with Christ, and most students consider chapel a highlight of their Cedarville education! If you really want to understand Cedarville culture and what makes us "tick," you need to experience chapel.
This year in his chapel series titled "Justified, Forgiven, Alive in Christ," our president, Dr. Thomas White, is preaching through the book of Romans, looking at how Christ's death has set us free from the penalty of sin.

One of the best ways a university can save you money is to help your student graduate on time. Consider the additional costs if students take five or more years to finish. Consider the cost if they never complete their educational goals!
At Cedarville, we make it a priority to help students graduate on time, saving them money but more importantly, allowing them to begin using their career to make an impact for Christ sooner. Today's post provides helpful information about graduation rates and what to consider as you compare college options.

Thursday, January 19, 2023

In a newly released video, Dr. Thomas White, President of Cedarville University, discusses how to prepare your student for this critical college decision. He shares questions to consider to make sure your student’s faith stays strong during the important college years. The video is long but well worth your time.

4 Reasons Why Teaching Creation at a Christian College Is Important
Thursday, January 12, 2023
When
it comes to their science departments, most Christian universities and colleges either ignore the issue of creation and Genesis altogether, or they promote theistic evolution or some other harmonization of Genesis. There are only a handful of schools
that believe that Genesis is historically accurate and forms a foundation for science, the Bible, and Christian education. In today's post, Dr. John Whitmore, Senior Professor of Geology at Cedarville University, shares four reasons why Cedarville holds
true to a biblical, literal six-day Creation, and why we always will.

How Important Is a University's Doctrinal Statement?
Tuesday, December 13, 2022
Like your local church, Christian colleges all have a statement of beliefs. As you research and visit different institutions with your student, how important is it to consider each college's doctrinal statement?
First, know that a doctrinal statement provides the general framework within which the university will be offering its education. It is a good idea to review the statements (most are posted online) to assure you are comfortable with the direction. If you have questions about what you read, this is a great opportunity to involve your pastor to provide insights.
Second, ask Christian universities if their faculty sign the doctrinal statement as a condition of employment. Not all do. Knowing that faculty will be teaching in line with the institution's stated beliefs provides a point of accountability to you as a parent. Are you comfortable that the faculty at the university will uphold the beliefs that are most important to your family?
Several years ago, we conducted a study related to parents' use of the Cedarville University website. We made an interesting — and candidly, unexpected —finding. Parents were more likely to search terms related to the University's doctrinal commitments and focus on spiritual growth than any other topics.
In today's post, you'll read about the importance of Cedarville's Doctrinal Statement and how it informs Cedarville's approach to Christ-centered higher education.

Athletics at Cedarville
Thursday, November 17, 2022
At
Cedarville, we do athletics very differently from other universities. Yes, our student-athletes train and compete hard to win on the court, field, or track. But that's not the most important thing. At Cedarville, our athletes use their sport for Kingdom
impact. They pray for and with their opponents, take the Gospel around the world on missions trips, and make Christ known by the way they play and interact with teammates, fans, and officials.
Watch this video and hear from some of our student-athletes. You'll discover that Cedarville Athletics is like no other.
This is what your future Cedarville student will experience as an athlete or fan!

A Bold, Biblical Approach to Geology
Thursday, November 3, 2022
At Cedarville, we approach the study of geology differently from most universities – even ones that are identified as "Christian." As with every program we offer, our geology program boldly acknowledges the Bible as the ultimate framework for research and study, without sacrificing
academic excellence. We are unashamed to adhere to a literal, six-day account of creation and recognize God as the Creator of all life. We are honored to be an invited exhibitor at Answers in Genesis’ annual college expo.
Regularly, Dr. John Whitmore, Professor of Geology, leads a group of students on a trip to the Grand Canyon, where they examine geological evidence that supports the biblical account of Creation and Noah's Flood. Read today's post to watch a video to get a taste of this incredible trip.
This bold, biblically integrated education is exactly what your student will experience at Cedarville University in every course, in every major. We invite you to visit campus and see for yourself!
