ParentPrepWelcome to Cedarville University's Parent Prep resource blog! We are excited to provide information and resources throughout this year for parents who are walking with their students through the college search and decision process.

Every week you will find new posts about important topics, such as financial aid tips and information, ways students can graduate from college with a strong faith, making the most of a campus visit, understanding the application process, and so much more! Last year we had nearly 1,000 subscribers, and we would love to continue adding to the Cedarville Parent Prep family. Tell friends, family, or anyone in need of helpful college search advice! Once they subscribe, we'll send an email whenever new posts are added. We'll also be providing helpful information about Dual Enrollment, our program for high school students, so be sure to tell your friends with younger students as well.

Read today's post for our Top 4 recommendations on how you can best help your student through the college search process this year. Although parents usually do not make the final college choice for their student, they do contribute to narrowing down the choices, even before the college search begins. Choosing a Residence Hall and Roommate

Wednesday, April 20, 2022

Girls in dorm room sitting on bed and chairs with open notebooks on their lapsIs your admitted student ready to choose a Cedarville residence hall and select a roommate? We’ve made it easy!

Your student’s personalized My.Cedarville.edu portal has all the resources he or she will need to easily transition from home to a residence hall room on campus. Your student can visit My.Cedarville.edu today to:

  • Get to know future classmates through the Cedarville incoming fall 2022 class Facebook group.
  • Find a roommate with RoomSync, a roommate-matching software that compares your student's likes and dislikes with other new students.
  • Complete the Request Housing task. Before making a decision, visit our residence hall page to get to know all of the dorm options. You can learn about community life in each residence hall, view floor plans, and watch a video with a Cedarville student as your guide. You'll also find a timeline for when your student will be granted access to the housing selection system. Keep in mind that students’ access is based on when they made their reservation deposit.

If you have any questions about the housing selection process, contact us at 1-800-CEDARVILLE. Your student’s admissions counselor will be happy to help!

Be sure to pay your student's reservation deposit by the May 1 deadline. With a record number of deposits already submitted for fall 2022, we will need to start a waitlist for those who deposit after the deadline.
