Cedarville Receives High Marks in Student Survey

Friday, September 13, 2019

Dr. Jason Lee talking with female and male studentIf you really want to know what sets Cedarville apart, you should listen to those who know us best – our students!

Last spring, we asked students to rate Cedarville on five important scales related to their classes, professors, and spiritual growth. The results overwhelmingly validated that what we say about the University matches students’ experience.

Overall, Cedarville earned a 4.63 ranking (out of 5.0) from the more than 500 students who participated in the survey. The statement “My classes have been taught from a biblical worldview” earned a perfect 5-star ranking from students. The remaining statements earned scores of 4.56 to 4.65, including:

  • Cedarville University has helped me grow in my walk with Christ.
  • Cedarville academics are marked by excellence.
  • My professors have demonstrated care for me as a person.
  • My academic program is preparing me well for a career.

As a university, we are encouraged that students affirmed what we’ve always known to be true: Cedarville is doing a great job of providing excellent academics in submission to biblical authority.

Parents Measure ROI for Their Students' Cedarville Education

Friday, March 22, 2019

Diploma on pile of moneyAs high school seniors and their parents sit down to finalize a college decision before the May 1 deadline, one topic is nearly always part of the discussion: cost.

While many universities — including Cedarville — are taking intentional steps to make a college education more affordable, parents are increasingly looking at job placement rates in order to weigh an institution’s benefits against its costs in an effort to decide whether or not a considerable investment is worthwhile.

Cedarville's placement rates continue to be impressive. In a six-month postgraduation final destination survey, 98.4% of Cedarville's class of 2018 reported being employed or in graduate school during that time period. This is not a one-year anomaly: Cedarville's five-year average is 97.3%.

These placement results are well above the national averages reported by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, which has reported an average of 88% over the last five years. But don't just take our word for it. Read the Q-and-A in today's post, originally published in an issue of Cedarville Magazine, and see what parents are saying about their children's experience at Cedarville.

P.S. If your student has been accepted to Cedarville for fall 2019, be sure to pay your reservation deposit soon to ensure his or her place in the incoming class!

Our nursing students worked with the Springfield, Ohio, public schools to identify children who would...

Why Are College Students Leaving the Church?

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Helping college students stay true to their faith is also on the heart of Thomas White, President of Cedarville University. In today's post, you'll find an insightful video where Dr. White speaks directly to parents about what Cedarville is doing to counteract this concerning trend.
